Delete your Refocus account
You can permanently delete your Refocus account and its data at any time. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone.
Delete in the Refocus app
- Open the Refocus app and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Account → Delete account.
- Tick “I understand that my account and all of its data will be permanently deleted”.
- Tap Delete account permanently and confirm.
Delete on the website
- Sign in at dashboard.refocus.co.in.
- Open Settings → Danger zone → Delete account.
- Type DELETE to confirm.
Either way, your account is deleted straight away and you're signed out.
Can't sign in? Request deletion by email
Email [email protected] from the email address on your account with the subject “Delete my Refocus account”. We'll confirm and delete the account within 7 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account and profile: name, username, email, password, and sign-in connections (Google, Apple)
- Your preferences and matching answers (gender, generation, focus areas)
- Friends, friend requests, and direct messages
- Session requests, and sessions only you were booked into
- Your community posts, comments, and likes
- Your blocks and personal task lists
What is kept
- Sessions you shared with a partner stay in your partner's history, with you removed from them.
- Messages you sent in the shared community chat stay visible but are shown as “Deleted user”, without your name or photo.
- A limited safety record: your email, name, username, IP addresses, the dates you joined, last signed in and deleted your account, and whether your account was restricted. We keep this to prevent abuse, such as banned users signing up again. It is not used for anything else.
- Anonymous usage analytics and records we are legally required to keep may be retained.
