Everything Refocus does, in one page.

Nothing you don't need. A timer, a partner, a room. The rest stays out of the way — free to start, no credit card.

The session flow

Refocus is a ritual, not a dashboard tour. Every feature exists to support one loop: match → share a goal → work with a synced timer → check in when time is up.

  1. Match — get paired with someone else who is ready to focus, or invite a friend you already know.
  2. Goal — say what you are working on in one line so both of you start with intent.
  3. Focus — mics stay quiet; cameras stay on for presence; the timer runs for both of you.
  4. Checkout — when the block ends, optionally unmute for a short check-in, then leave with the work done (or clearer).

That is the same idea as body doubling and a quiet online focus room — co-presence without a meeting.

Three lengths. One ritual.

25-minute sprints for quick wins, 50-minute deep-work blocks for the real thing, and 75-minute marathons for writing or research. Pick a length, start the timer — the structure does the rest. Students often stack two 50s for exam prep; remote workers often protect a single 75 for deep work.

Focus mode

Both mics muted by default. Cameras stay on for presence. You're present, not performing. Unmute at the end of the session to check in if you want. That's the same idea as a library desk — co-presence without a meeting.

If “just focus” advice has never worked for ADHD-like brains, quiet presence is often the missing piece. Start with a short block and our body doubling guide.

Synced timers

When your partner starts, you start. Breaks land together. No coordination overhead — sit down and the timer takes care of the rhythm. See also our guides on online focus rooms and virtual coworking.

Friends and session requests

Work with the people you focus best with. Send friend requests, send session requests, and see who's free, who's in a session, and how long is left on their timer. Random matching is fine for a first session; friends make the habit stick.

Community between sessions

Share wins, ask for advice, and cheer others on when you're not in a room — quiet company while you work, supportive community when you don't. The room stays one-to-one; the lounge is optional.

Built for different kinds of deep work

Students & exams

Timed blocks for JEE, NEET, UPSC, CA, and other long prep seasons — especially when studying alone at home feels endless. Pair with study with me and study partner if that is your main use case.

Remote workers & freelancers

A container for deep work when Slack and Zoom eat the day. Refocus is not another meeting — it is a scheduled quiet block with a partner. Compare approaches on our Focusmate alternative page.

ADHD-friendly accountability

Task initiation is often harder than the work itself. Having someone else “there” lowers the activation energy without forcing conversation. Read body doubling, then try a 25-minute session.

Frequently asked questions

What does Refocus include?

Timed focus sessions (25, 50, or 75 minutes), partner matching, synced timers, quiet mics with cameras on for presence, friends and session requests, and a community layer between sessions.

Do I need my camera on?

Cameras stay on so your partner can see you're there. Focus mode mutes mics by default — you're present, not performing. Unmute at the end if you want a short check-in, and you can turn your camera off anytime.

Is it free?

Yes. Refocus is free to start with no credit card. See the pricing page for what's included.

Is this a group lobby or a one-to-one room?

One-to-one. You work with a single partner and a shared timer — not a crowded Discord or Zoom lobby. That keeps the session quiet and accountable.
